Bass players with afros are an enduringly good source of inspiration. While the grey guy is every visa clerk I had bad dreams about.

Today’s daily doodle got a bit out of hand, but I felt my bass player deserved some proper treatment. I like this guy. I’d like him to come round and hang out for a while.

Every day I stop storyboarding for half an hour and do something just for me, to explore a technique, and to draw more old people. Old people are the best.

A friend commented that the previous post could be the start of an animated short, which I dug, so I painted up the lady character to get a feel for her. (..does that sound wierd?)

I felt the need to draw a larger girl who was perfectly happy. Here she is:

 After a chaotic year, my wife and I have a new baby in the house, and life is beautiful. I hope it’s going well for you.

At least, that’s what I think Mudskippers are dealing with most of the time. They sit around thinking, what am I, after all?
